How we handle your data

No legal thicket. Below is exactly what this website does — no more and no less.

In short

  • We do not track you. There is no analytics, no advertising pixel and no social plugin on this site.
  • There is a single cookie, and it only remembers which language you chose.
  • We store your email address only if you give it to us in the form.
  • We will delete it whenever you ask — a short message to our address is enough.
01

Who handles the data

Poštarski dom na Vršiču, Vršiška cesta 92, 4280 Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

Controller: Benjamin Jelenc s.p., Spodnje Gorje 132, 4247 Zgornje Gorje, Slovenia, VAT number SI64753379.

For anything concerning your data, write to postarskidom.vrsic@gmail.com or call +386 41 335 919.

02

Signing up for notice

If you enter your email address in the form, we store four things: the address, whether you asked about the lodge reopening or about bookings opening, the language of the page and the date you signed up.

The basis for keeping it is your consent, given when you press the button. We use the address solely for the notice you asked for — never to advertise anything else, and we never pass it on.

The data is held with Supabase, on a server in Frankfurt in the European Union. We keep it until the notice is sent, or until you ask us to delete it.

03

Cookies

The site sets a single cookie, called NEXT_LOCALE. It contains only a language code — de, for instance — and is created only when you click the language switcher yourself. An ordinary visit writes nothing.

Its purpose is to greet you in the language you chose when you come back. It identifies no one and follows no one, so no consent is required and there is no cookie banner.

You can delete it at any time in your browser settings, under this site's data.

04

The map

The Location page shows a map served by OpenStreetMap. When you open that page, your browser contacts their server and in doing so reveals your IP address — as happens when visiting any website.

We chose this map precisely because, unlike others, it sets no cookies and builds no profile of visitors.

05

The server

The site is hosted by Vercel. Their servers record the usual technical details on each visit: IP address, time, page opened and browser type. This is necessary for the site to work and stay secure, and it is not connected to your name or email address.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site running reliably and protected from abuse (Article 6(1)(f) of the General Data Protection Regulation). We do not read these logs and use them for nothing else.

Vercel holds the logs and deletes them automatically under their own retention period. We neither store them ourselves nor keep copies.

06

Transfers outside the European Union

Vercel and Supabase are companies based in the United States. The database holding the email addresses sits in Frankfurt, while the site itself is served to each visitor from the nearest server in a worldwide network — so technical details of a visit may travel outside the European Union.

For such a transfer the Regulation requires a specific safeguard. Both companies are bound by the Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission (implementing decision 2021/914) — that is the legal basis on which data may leave the European Union.

We have a data processing agreement with each of them. They may process the data solely on our instructions and never for purposes of their own.

07

Links elsewhere

The footer carries links to our Facebook page and to Google Maps. Until you click them, nothing is sent to those companies. Once you do, their rules apply, not ours.

08

Your rights

At any time you may ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to have it deleted. You may also ask us to restrict how we process it, object to the processing, or receive your data in a form you can take to another provider.

You may withdraw your consent to notices at any time without giving a reason. Withdrawing it does not affect the lawfulness of what we did before.

A message to postarskidom.vrsic@gmail.com is enough. We answer as soon as we can, and within one month at the latest.

If you believe we are handling your data improperly, you may complain to the Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, Dunajska cesta 22, 1000 Ljubljana.

09

Changes

If what the site does changes — if we add visitor measurement or a booking system, for instance — we will write it here and update the date at the top.
