Location
On the pass, between Kranjska Gora and Trenta
Vršič is the highest road pass in the Eastern Julian Alps. Postman's Lodge stands right beside the road, at 1,688 metres.
Getting here
By car along the Vršič road — 24 hairpins from the northern, Gorenjska side, 26 from the southern, Primorska side. The road is open only in the warmer half of the year.
In season a bus also crosses the pass from Kranjska Gora. The timetable changes from year to year, so check before you travel.
Many arrive on foot or by bicycle — Vršič is one of the most popular climbs in Slovenia.
Parking
There is no parking directly at the lodge. The nearest public car park is about a 15-minute walk away, so plan for a short walk with your luggage.
