WELCOME TO POSTMAN’S LODGE ON VRŠIČ PASS
Postman’s Lodge is located in the heart of the Julian Alps of Slovenia. The lodge is situated on Vršič Pass at an altitude of 1,688 meters and is a popular destination for hikers, climbers, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Vršič Pass is also accessible by car and autobus.
The lodge was built in 1913 as a postal station, where postmen would rest and change their horses on the journey between Kranjska Gora and Trenta. Today, Postman’s Lodge is a charming and cozy mountain cottage where visitors can eat traditional Slovenian cuisine and sleep (26 beds in 10 rooms and 28 beds in 2 dormitory rooms). In addition, guests can also enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding mountains from the outdoor terrace because Postman’s Lodge has the most beautiful view of all Vršič cottages.
The lodge has WC, a washbasin with hot and cold water on the ground floor and first floor, a shower for guests, and free WiFi. Sanitary and inn premises are centrally heated.

- A buffet breakfast is available: 10€/person.
- Dinner can be chosen from two menus (soup + main course + dessert): 12€/person.
- Sleeping bags ARE NOT allowed in our lodge. We provide bed linen.
- Parking is not possible next to the Postman’s Lodge. However, it is about a 15-minute walk from the public parking lot to the lodge.
- Payment by card is possible.
- Pets are not allowed.

Postman’s Lodge is located on the Vršič Pass, which connects the Kranjska Gora and Trenta towns. In the summer, it is a popular destination for hikers, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Vršič Pass is also accessible by car and autobus.
The view from Vršič Pass is breathtaking, with stunning vistas of the surrounding Julian Alps and the valley below. Visitors can see several nearby peaks, including Mojstrovka, Razor, and Prisank. In front of the Postman’s Lodge is also a viewing board with marked peaks. In addition, one of the most popular trails is the path that leads to the summit of Slemenova špica, a 1,910-meter peak that offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
